AMY NEWHOUSE - Hot 26&2 and Inferno Hot Pilates

Amy is the owner of Hot Yoga Stowe and an avid yogi. She has been practicing yoga for more than 30 years and took over at Hot Yoga Stowe in 2019. You've probably seen her around the studio! Amy completed her 250-hour Hot Yoga Certificate through Evolation Yoga and Inferno Hot Pilates Training with Gabby Walters.

Amy is into movement of all kinds and enjoys running, working out, and any other physical activity that allows her to move her body. A friend invited her to her first yoga class and, from that day on, she was hooked. She loved the physical and calming aspects of the class, and it quickly became her number one way to move her body and stay fit.

From Amy - In my classes we focus on breathwork and finding an inner sense of calm. I want students to leave feeling calm, centered, and satisfied. Many of my students may not know that I'm also a hairdresser and have been cutting hair for well over 30 years now!

MAGGIE WETHERBEE - Hot 26&2

Maggie first fell in love with Bikram yoga as a student in Burlington while she was pursuing her Masters degree in mental health counseling. A year after graduation, she ran into a friend at a Christmas party who was completely transformed and glowing - all because of Bikram.

The Bikram series strengthened Maggie’s body and mind. She joined the Bikram yoga community that January and never looked bank. 

In 2009, Maggie graduated from Bikram’s Yoga College of India. Maggie taught for several years all over New York City before starting her family. She and her family have now returned to Vermont and she is grateful to have come full circle and rejoin the community as a teacher.

From Maggie - In every class, I will tell you how to find depth and alignment in every posture. I want you to leave class feeling amazing - grateful and lighter both physically and emotionally. Something that students may not know about me is that I am petrified of public speaking but for whatever reason I can stand on podium and teach Bikram to a packed room.

​ABBY MAURICE- Yoga

Abby has always found yoga to be a soothing practice, something she can return to, to help gather strength and energy for challenges in life. Yoga has ebbed and flowed through her life, always remaining a constant, no matter how much time has passed between practices. Abby
 completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Sangha Studio in Burlington in 2022.

Abby’s classes are supportive spaces where students can show up exactly as they are. She 
brings her joy of dance and choreography to each class, welcoming students to expand awareness throughout the body. Her flowing sequences allow a shift in perspective and an exploration of all corners of the mat, stimulating the mind and cultivating strength in and out of the studio.

Some people might not know that Abby loves to act, sing, and choreograph dance!

From Abby - I welcome ideas like forgiveness, compassion, and exploration in all of my classes. I focus on full embodiment and a cultivation of a deeper trust within yourself! I believe that yoga is a practice of noticing how you feeling without any judgement.

BONNIE HANNON - Inferno Hot Pilates

In Bonnie's Inferno Hot Pilates classes, she focuses on full body strength and cardio training with an emphasis on core and glute strength. She adds in basic movements in all planes of motion to help you improve your fitness and strength in everyday life.

Bonnie was hooked on Pilates after her first class! The combination of energy from the instructor and her fellow classmates, and how energized she felt after class left her wanting more. She is excited to be in a place where she can share that energy with other people.

As a lifelong lover of fitness and nutrition, Bonnie is proud to have earned a Certificate in Personal Training through National Academy of Sports Medicine. She is also currently working towards her Certificate in Nutrition Coaching. Bonnie lives in Wolcott with her son, husband and two sweet pups! 

From Bonnie - I hope that after my class, participants feel strong, energized and accomplished. We are building a great little community of Pilates members, so I also hope participants feel that love!

MILLIE HECKLER - Inferno Hot Pilates and Yes Body Dance

Millie is a dancer first and foremost. Yoga and Pilates have always been medicine for the wear and tear she does to her body. Yoga, specifically, has been medicine for calming her mind and detaching from worldly afflictions. Millie completed her 250-hour Hot Yoga Certificate through Evolation Yoga and Inferno Hot Pilates Training with Gabby Walters.

In Millie's classes, she teaches discipline, commitment and the art of letting go. She wants her students to leave class feeling strong, light, and empowered.

From Millie - I am a dancer and performance artist who merges original music with multiple styles of movement. I am an artist whose work centers around empowerment through sensuality. My passion lies in unlocking voices of the body; I believe that as human beings, we are all dancers, singers, movers and artists--we've just forgotten and forget sometimes.

CHRISTIE SPRING - Yoga Workshops

Christie has been practicing & studying yoga for over a decade. She loves both the modern physical practice and the rich yoga philosophies. She feels that yoga, which was originally intended to unify one’s mind with the divine, remains a living, dynamic, & ever-evolving map with underlying golden threads for optimal wellbeing and self-realization today. 

In 2019, Christie completed her 200-hour teacher training with Tirza Dawn at Dhyana Studio in Sebastopol, CA, and in 2023, she completed a Yin Yoga training with Bernie Clark through Yoga International. Each training has played a uniquely wonderful role in helping her more deeply understand the functionality of yoga poses for individuals over merely aesthetics.

MARINA TURCO - Vinyasa Yoga

Yoga found Marina unexpectedly; she never planned to become a teacher but has always loved the practice. While studying Holistic Medicine at Johnson State, Marina connected with other Dharma Yogis, then Sri Dharma Mittra himself. She values the immense impact Sri Dharma Mittra's teaching has had on her life-on and off the mat.

Marina has been practicing Dharma Yoga since 2016 and teaching since 2019. She is a 200hr, 500hr, and 700hr qualified teacher through the Dharma Yoga Center based in New York, NY

From Marina: I am passionate about sharing traditional yoga for householders and like to bring a compassionate, humorous, and enthusiastic approach to all of my classes. I endeavor to meet you where you are while also encouraging play. Come to my classes to experience Yoga through a holistic approach that goes beyond the postures!

MELISSA LAPORTE - Vinyasa Yoga

Melissa is a yoga and meditation instructor who has utilized her background in dance to integrate creative movement, physical fitness and body awareness into traditional Vinyasa and Hatha flow sequences.

She completed her 200- and 500-hour yoga teacher trainings with School Yoga Institute’s intensive programs on the sustainable farming communities of Bethel Farm (Hillsborough, NH) and The Mystical Yoga Farm (Lake Atitlan, Guatemala). She's also facilitated and guided SYI’s intensive 200 hour teacher trainings in North Fork, CA. Their programs focus on Hatha and Vinyasa sequences, rooted in a dedicated daily meditation and yoga practice.

From Melissa: Having studied Wellness and Alternative Medicine at Johnson State College, I bring a strong knowledge and understanding of the mental and physical health benefits of Yoga and integrates to all of my teachings. I teach with a holistic approach, aiming to cultivate physical, mental, and spiritual wellness with practitioners of all ages, backgrounds, and levels.

NICOLE SCHMID- Baptiste Power Yoga

Nicole wasn't sure about yoga at first. Her first memory of it was playing in the corner of her mom's class, playing with toy horses for an hour. It wasn't until college that she caught the "yoga bug."

Yoga helped her reconcile a feeling of alienation from herself. She kept busy to mask the feeling that she didn't belong. After only a few weeks practicing the Baptiste Journey into Power sequences, she realized that true belonging begins with belonging to yourself.

The Baptiste Journey Into Power sequence changed her in an instant. She stopped flirting with commitment and became fully dedicated to living inspired. Since the practice grew roots in her life, life has handed her so many challenges and long
-lasting setbacks, but every time, the tools she practiced on the mat guided her back, stronger and more eager to live in the potential of possibility. 


Nicole has been a certified Baptiste 200-hour yoga teacher since 2019 when she did her Level One Journey Into Power with Baron Baptiste. Then in 2020, she did her second Baptiste Teacher Course with Leandra Antonutti. In the spring of 2022, she participated in Brandon Sommers' empowering 200 Hour Baptiste Teacher Training with Baptiste Yoga Fort Myers. Finally, in 2024, she took the Down Under School of Yoga’s Art of Assisting with Massaaki Okamura and Franny Diaz-Gilligan. 

From Nicole: My classes are for every body who is willing. If you are willing, you are able. I will teach to what you need. Other than yoga, my life consists of time spent playing in the mountains and on the rivers, JAMMING to music live or in my car, spending time by the fire with a book or hanging in nature with fun and interesting people.

ERICA LOOMIS - Inferno Hot Pilates

Erica fell in love with Pilates and 26&2 yoga in 2006. After taking Amy’s very first Inferno Hot Pilates class, she was instantly hooked. She credits IHP for transforming her mindset, body, and overall outlook on life.
Erica is certified in Inferno Hot Pilates, Mat Pilates, and Barre. She believes each modality offers something unique and powerful—and that there’s a practice for every body, no matter where you are on your journey.
She lives in Stowe with her wonderful husband and daughter. When she’s not teaching at IHP, she likes to go on vacation and relax by the ocean.
From Erica: Your safety is always my top priority. I’m detail-oriented and love offering hands-on adjustments to support you and your practice. I also love a good playlist—you never know what kind of music will come on next! Many of my classes incorporate weights, and most importantly, we always have fun.
